Leaving a Legacy

Wanna be Great or Leave a legacy?

Throughout the years we have met so many 'wanna be' ministers that desire to be 'Great.' Most are young ministers who love God and seek to be everything that they believe God wants them to be. However, many have been deceived, thinking that stardom is what God is after.

Do you realize how many sweet, eager young ministers have been led away into the land of glitter, applause and high living, all in the name of Christ?

Do you know that you may never be 'great' by man's standard, yet, leave a legacy that will make all of heaven stand and applaud your life of sacrifice for others? A case in point is Dr. James Dobson's testimony of his own upbringing; His father left him a legacy of true godliness. I’ve never heard of his father, have you? Yet, the whole world has heard of Dr. James Dobson.

Paul said that we are a letter being read. What would your children say about your life in Christ? You know, for the most part, children can separate the vile from the precious, the hypocritical from the pure. And, my darling, regardless of what your past life has been, if you shudder to think that anyone would become like you used to be, I have good news; When we are in Christ, we are new creatures and the old is past away and even our parental influences becomes new. There is hope! We can still leave a legacy of Godliness in the lives of those with whom we have to do.

Fruitfulness in God's economy cannot be measured in numbers or dollars. What then? Changed lives, Dear One. Those, who with tears, have seen your good works and fall on their knees giving glory to God; thanking Him for bringing you, as an example of the genuine, into their lives. Yes, My Sweetheart, the testimony of your life will not be realized as long as you live. It is what you have left as a legacy that will continue in fruitfulness until Jesus comes.

To leave a legacy of God's nature worked through our humanity is a treasure worth going after.

The Lord spoke to me this past weekend and said the word that you will be hearing more and more is 'Humility.' I can only imagine how some will come into this coveted state. As we stand in the light of God's magnificent holiness and realize that He alone is all might, all power, all everything, should humble us.

However, with the threats against all mankind looming just over the horizon, those who would be great in man's eyes could experience a breaking that they would never choose. Those who are seen as rich in the eyes of the world can become the poorest of the poor in a matter of minutes. The physically beautiful can in a flash become horrible to look upon.

We really do not know what is ahead but we do know according to Deuteronomy 8:2-8, that God has a way of breaking us and testing us to see what is in our hearts. Humility paves a way for the power of God to move unhindered through a human filled with God's Holy Spirit. I want that!

Beloved one, do not measure yourself by man's yardstick, for the last shall be first and the first shall be last on that great day. Bring to the Lord's table a heart that is pure, service that required a sacrifice, worship from a broken heart and pure joy over being loved by The Great King.

I may not see you in this life dear One, but I will see you at the King's Table!

Love ,

Benji

Dear Benji,

I by no means think that it is coincidence that I read this blog today. God has been teaching me a lot about humility, with that has came some growing pains that have strengthened my relationship with Him, and I thank God for that. He is preparing me for what He is calling me to do and for what He has in store for me. Thank you for sharing what God has laid on your heart!

Love in Him
